Barwon Estuary Heritage Centre

If you want to see, touch and learn all about our local area – then head on down to the Lobster Pot! This charismatic building, originally built in 1934 as a dance hall is home to the Barwon Estuary Heritage Centre.

The Barwon Estuary Heritage Centre is a treasure trove of displays and information on local geology, botany, history, marine science and European and Aboriginal culture. The centre focuses on Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove and the Lake Connewarre region. Entry to the centre is FREE! But a gold coin donation will help us continue to maintain and develop our displays on the local area.

An enthusiastic and super-knowledgeable group of volunteers run the centre, supported by Barwon Coast. All visitors and locals are welcome.
